Ribbon-dancing 5th graders set World Record

2,500 local kids make history at the Music Center

More than 2,500 fifth graders from across Los Angeles County danced their way into a Guinness World Records title at the Music Center by performing the largest choreographed ribbon dance ever. The successful record-setting attempt represents the culmination of this year’s 45th Annual Blue Ribbon Children’s Festival, California’s longest running arts education initiative. The festival has introduced more than 815,000 youngsters to the joys of performing arts, many for the first time. Students prepare for the festival in advance with curriculum provided to their teachers by The Blue Ribbon in partnership with the Music Center.
