Workplace Programs

The mission of Workplace Programs is to promote a family-friendly work environment that enhances employee productivity, workplace savings and giving options, rideshare choices, and volunteer opportunities through effective and caring services and programs.

Highlights

Vanpooling
Employees are encouraged to form independent vanpools with co-workers or near-by employees. The County promotes ridesharing as part of its strategy to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and commuter costs.

	Cesar Chavez Community Service Week Coordinates the annual Cesar Chavez Community Service Week Program, held in late March. Features community service projects at local non-profit agencies, on-site food drives, and activities in departments.
	County Awards We coordinate the annual countywide awards nomination process for National Association of Counties (NACo) awards and California State Association of Counties (CSAC) awards.
	Marketing The Office of Workplace Programs markets and sells County logo merchandise
	Plain Language Initiative Promotes the use of plain language in communications. Provides training and materials to employees
	Rideshare Program County employees are encouraged to Rideshare at least one day a week to enhance air quality and reduce travel costs.
	Savings Bonds County employees are encouraged to purchase U.S. Savings Bonds either through monthly payroll deduction or by purchasing bonds on a one-time basis by personal check.
	Volunteer Program The volunteer program provides volunteers opportunities within departments resulting in enhanced service delivery. The program provides an annual volunteer recognition event.
	Workplace Connection Workplace Connection is a bi-monthly employee newsletter focusing on air quality, ridesharing, commuter and community service programs.
	Workplace Giving The Charitable Giving Campaign in partnership with the Auditor-Controller and five non-profit fund distribution agencies provides employees with a voluntary payroll deduction charitable giving option. The March of Dimes – The Office of Workplace Programs supports and participates through fundraising activities the annual March of Dimes campaign
