Public Health

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health works to protect health, prevent disease, and promote the health and well-being of all persons in Los Angeles County. It improves the lives of LA County residents through its 39 programs and 14 public health centers. Activities include direct medical services for immunizations, tuberculosis, and STDs; disease surveillance and communicable disease control; restaurant and other food facility inspections; emergency preparedness and response; and substance abuse prevention and control.
