Funny or extinct: Will Ferrell's #HowDoYouMuseum moments

Watch as “Dr.” Will Ferrell dons a lab coat and tangles with a saber-toothed cat (“You need to floss, that’s all I’m gonna tell you”) at the La Brea Tar Pits & Museum. Ferrell also ad libs about the self-protective abilities of the ground sloth (“The creature had great self-esteem, unlike the mammoth, who had a lot of body image issues”) and tries to convince a young sidekick he knows how to guess the age of a Columbian mammoth. (“12.”)

Ferrell’s short videos are part of an interactive #HowDoYouMuseum campaign for the county’s Natural History Museum and its La Brea Tar Pits & Museum. Other videos feature “science communicator” Cara Santa Maria and artists Gary Baseman and Mark Bradford. But you don’t have to be famous to play a part in the campaign. The museum is encouraging members of the public to post their own photos and videos to Instagram, Twitter or social media platform of their choice. Click here to watch and participate.
