Responds to telephone, mail, e-mail and walk-in requests from individuals who have complaints involving Sheriff's Department, Office of Public Safety and other county departments as directed by the Board of Supervisors.
The office:
- Determines the status of complaint investigations;
- Reviews unresolved or unsubstantiated complaint investigations to ensure thoroughness and objectivity;
- Conducts administrative hearings related to adult civil graffiti offenses;
- Offers voluntary mediation services; and
- Provides referral information.
